How to Achieve….. Sexy Eyes

“Your eyes are the window to your soul”

EYE’S…… They are the first thing that we use when we wake and the last thing before we fall asleep. They come in all shapes and sizes such as round, almond, hooded/deepest and prominent. They are one of our main characteristics.

Did you know… Brown eyes are the most common world wide, Blue are most common in Caucasians and Green are the raciest at less than 2 percent globally.

You can tell a lot about a person by looking at their eyes. They can tell a story, such as if the person is happy or sad, nervous or excited, tired or HUNGOVER.

Top Tips:

Your eyes will always give you away if you are hungover so just in case you happen to go out on a school night (which never happens in our store!!),  a little trick to help disguise this is to pay a little more attention to your eyes that morning by defining them using eyeliner and mascara that is black. This will help the white of your eyes look whiter, use colours such as cold browns.

Never use any thing with pink in it as they will make your eyes look tired and reddish.

Spray your eyes with Optrex Actimist Eye Spray – €18.17, or Eye Logic Eye Spray – €10.04, on a closed eye. This can even be used over makeup and may help remove any traces of the effects of the night before.

Did you every hear of the expression “Smile with your eyes”? If there is no expression in your eyes it is said people will see right through you, and first impressions are lasting impressions (unfortunately).

So, sexy eyes ………… as we have established everyone is different, and here are some tips to help you enhance your best feature

Round eyes -> Define brows

  • Use a base colour all over
  • Use a darker colour in the crease of the eye
  • Use a liner on the outer half of the eye and extend it out a small amount to give lent
  • Underline the eye and finish with mascara

Almond eyes -> Define brows

  • Use a base colour all over
  • Use a medium colour on the lid and a darker shade on the outer corner and blend well
  • Apply liner on top and bottom and finish with mascara

Hooded/deepest eyes -> Define brows

  • Use abase colour all over
  • Use a light shadow on the inner corner of the eye and apply a slightly darker shade above the crease of the eye or where the eye might have dropped a bit and blend well
  • Apply liner to the top and bottom and finish with mascara

Prominent eye -> Define brows

  • Define brows
  • Apply base colour all over
  • Apply a  matt medium colour to the eyelid and the crease, blend well
  • Apply liner to the top and the bottom and finish with mascara

You should also use an under eye concealer around the eye area as this is not as heavy as foundation and helps to brighten the area. If you find that your eye shadow is not lasting try using an eye primer or a cream based eye shadow under your eye shadow as this will make the shadow last longer. Also one of the most important tools when achieving the perfect eye look is using the right tools.

It is so important to use the right ones. I would always recommend that you invest in a good set of brushes as you may have them for life, choose real hair brushes. My favourite are clinique as the are easy to care, I have some of my brushes years. Build up your collection and you will always have them.

If you are feeling adventures you could always apply some false lashes and really have some fun with your new looks, I will talk next week about defining your brows and applying false lashes. The one thing about false lashes is that when you start using them, it is very hard to stop as they’re so addidictive.

Take some time to look at your eye shape, and learn which way of applying your eye shadow is going to enhance your eye shape and… Practice Practice Practice Practice… Because practice makes perfect!!!
