I was away last week at the galway race’s and one thing that I noticed in the style stakes was ………BIG HAIR!!

And the best way to achieve this is with the hot new craze on the market “sleep in rollers”!!!

And they really do work, they have become my new best friend! I has always been a fan of back combing and hairspray but I have fine hair so after a while it som times feel out so I decided to try Velcro rollers and they are very good but when the sleep in rollers came out I had to give them a go. I find sometimes with the normal Velcro rollers they are hard and can sometimes be heavy on your head if you want to leave them in for a while but the sleep in ones are so soft you would forget that you are even wearing them, and as you know the longer you leave them in the better the result. I have to admit that I have only slept in them 2-3 times and they are ok , now you are not going to have the best night sleep ever but the next day you will have fab hair so remember “ beauty is pain” there are so soft that they adjust on the pillow and come in a pack of 20 rollers so its great value.

I think it is very important to prep your hair before using the rollers because the correct product does help to keep the style in your hair. Some of my favourites are:-

Mane n’ Tail shampoo + conditioner colour protect, I am loving these products and at first I thought that they were going to be a bit of a joke when I saw them because they look like something we would use on horses! But they have definitely strengthened my hair, gives great shine, maintains colour and gives great full body, I love it!!

Volume mousse like loreal studio, just use a small amount on wet hair and this will help achieve great volume when drying the hair and help keep your style

Batiste dry shampoo if you spray a small amount at the roots of your hair this will provide volume, I know its for in between washes but it serves 2 purposes, it’s a must have!!

Denman dress out brush- everyone should have this brush, this will help you achieve great volume, I always back comb a little at the root of my hair before applying the rollers

Loreal elnet hairspray- is essential for hair styling, why go to all that effort and not secure it, its like your insurance! Better still it disappears at the stroke of a brush not leaving your hair hard!

  • Best results use them on dry clean prepped hair
  • Section your hair for each roller, take your time when putting them in and have them secure
  • Roll your hair in the direction of the desired effect, big bouncy hair clockwise or flicked effects anti-clockwise
  • Secure the rollers with clips and I always spray a small amount of hairspray on them
  • Finally – Relax and let them do the work, the longer you leave them in the better the results
  • RESULTS ……………………………..GREAT HAIR!!!!!!
