There’s just something about New Years Resolutions, they’re a whole bunch of hopes and dreams wrapped up in a burst of determination.
And you see that’s why New Years Resolutions on the most part don’t work for me. I lack willpower (so Cadburys have no fears of losing business from me), and I’m pretty lazy when it comes to anything more than one days exercise per week, but one thing I can act on, and a resolution I can stick to, is to better look after my skin, so this January I’ve put that top of my list.
So that’s why this new range from Nivea has piqued my interest. Cellular Anti-Age has been designed to stimulate cell renewal by supporting skins own regeneration processes with the result that wrinkles should be lessened and skin texture improved. But don’t we hear these claims from lots of products – well yes we do, but what’s getting me excited about this is that pocket friendly Nivea is made by Beiersdorf, the same company that makes the much less purse friendly La Praire, and once a company has invested in R&D for it’s premium brand you see the ideas & technologies eventually filtering down to their other brands!
There are four products in the range: An Anti Ageing Day Cream with SPF 15. Comes with an SPF so that ticks the first box for me. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid (again an ingredient we see in much pricier brands) which not only helps skin to retain moisture, but can also plump the skin and soften wrinkles – so helping those pesky fine lines – tick!
There’s also a Night Cream, Eye Cream and Skin Refining Serum in the range – all of which also contain Hyaluronic Acid. Other important ingredients contained in all four products are Magnolia Extract which supports skins resilience to oxidative stress and Creatine which is important for the energy system of cells. So all in all there’s a pretty strong powerhouse of ingredients to these products. The day cream and night cream are definites for my shopping list, and I’ll check back in a month to let you know how I’ve got on.
Nivea Cellular Anti-Age Skin Rejuvenation range will be available at Sam McCauley Chemists nationwide from Monday 13th January.
