5 minutes with Stila Brand Ambassador – Sascha Jackson…and a little giveaway!

Last Thursday, Stila Brand Ambassador Sascha Jackson visited our Redmond Square store in Wexford Town and we were lucky enough to get five minutes with her and get her opinion on some of Stila’s must have products and trends to watch out for in 2015!

Sascha

Since 2009, Sascha has been one of London’s most in demand freelance make up artists with work including industry photo shoots, music videos and a huge celeb clientele and in 2013 she joined Stila where she became Brand Ambassador and represents the brand as the ‘face’ of Stila on QVC.

So Sascha, tell us a bit about some of your must have Stila products?

I love One Step Correct. It’s a primer but it does so much more than just priming – that’s why I love it so much!  It’s an anti-ageing serum as well so not only will it reduce pore sizes, smooth out the texture of your skin and help your make up look better and last longer, it’s also going to give that skincare element at the same time.

It also helps to treat the skin, so if anyone has any breakouts or is prone to irritation, it can also help to calm it down.  So if you get irritated skin it’s not a product that’s going to make it worse.

One Step Correct contains three main colour correctors in one.  Green to help with redness.  Lavender to brighten and apricot to balance out pigmentation.  It’s oil free which is a great thing for a primer because people do get slight oil down the T-Zone so it’s going to really help to keep that at bay but it’s so light and nourishing that it’s going to keep your skin nice and hydrated as well.  It’s ideal for a makeup free day where you just want something to even your skin out and make your skin look a little better.

I also adore Convertible Colour!  I think cream blushes get a little bit of stigma these days and not a lot of people like cream blushes and not a lot of brands do cream blushes.  Ours is lovely – winning InStyle magazine’s Beauty Award for Best Cream Blusher every year, the reason being is it’s so lightweight, you pick up a tiny bit with your fingers, pat it on to your cheek and you’ll get this gorgeous flush of colour.  It doesn’t look like you’re wearing a blusher, it just dries and mimics the texture of the skin and because you can use it on your lips aswell it’s a real handbag ‘must have’.

And what are going to be some of the big beauty trends for 2015!?

Next year it’s all about nude.  Bringing back beautiful nude natural makeup mimicking the skin tone so there’s going to be a lot of nudes coming for next year.  Contouring is still big for 2015 and Stila are going to be bringing forward some really great contouring products to help you contour but for it to look natural  and like it’s your own skin.

For nude lips I recommend Stila Colour Balm in Olivia – it’s the perfect nude and really moisturising.  For something a bit bolder use Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in either Bellissima or Dolce (depending on your skin tone).

Eyes will be matte and defined.  With eyeshadow in flesh toned colours with varients of taupe, mauve, light browns, light grey – just colours that will define the eye, but in a matte way so you can’t see a lot of eye shadow.

Thanks Sascha!
