Wax On, Wax Off – The Benefits of Professional Waxing

When it comes to hair removal do you shave, use depilatory cream or wax?

There’s pros and cons to each of them – but for longer lasting hair removal waxing is a convenient choice.

One of the big pluses that waxing has over either shaving or using depilatory creams, is that you stay hair free for longer.  With shaving, you are cutting hair off at the base of the shaft – leaving a blunt edge. Depilatory creams work by dissolving hair at the surface of the skin, where waxing pulls the hair out from the root, meaning that new hair will not grow back in the waxed area for 4-6 weeks (although some people may notice regrowth sooner due to some of the hair shafts being in a different growth cycle).  Also the more often you wax, the thinner and finer your hair will grow back, and repeat waxing also weakens hair follicles meaning hair growth will be slower.

Other positives to waxing include no nicks or cuts (that can happen with shaving), no yucky smell (like with some depilatory creams) and by having a professional waxing treatment you can be assured that all hair will be removed (even from those hard to reach spots!)  Here are some other advantages:
